Leadership Team

“We live on a beautiful planet. Growing up in Hawaii has taught me to take pride in where I live, knowing that we are here as stewards of the land. The Philippines and Hawaii are so similar; I have always have had so much Aloha and deep connection for the people of the Philippines where my grandparents were born.  I feel it is my kuleana (responsibility) to help clean our oceans, our beaches, and most importantly help my fellow brothers and sisters for a better and cleaner way of life.”

The ocean and the mountains have healed and awakened my senses. For it is in nature where it is easy to capture moments of serenity and celebration. Indeed, to be part of #Pride4PI is an honor. This initiative calls for responsible stewardship of the earthly treasures around us. Hence, it excites me and others to do more for our world, and I’m looking forward to connecting those who want to make a difference and a lasting impact for our future generations.

“Taking care of our land & ocean is crucial to the health of mama earth and all that exists upon her. My passion for this cause #Pride4PI feeds me the energy and inspiration to do as much as I can in my lifetime for the future of our children and our planet.”

Jaime Kailani, Founder/Director, MAMA EARTH

“I am blessed to call Hawai`i home. In Hawai’i we live “malama `aina,” which means we care for our land so the land will sustain us and future generations. #Pride4PI allows me to share this powerful way of life, while actively participating in cleaning up our environment, and positively impacting the lives of people who need our assistance. I am beyond excited to be part of an initiative that promises to make a significant difference in our world.”

“The environment and the fight for the world’s poor are inherently linked. The planet can no longer wait, the underprivileged can no longer be ignored. This is truly our moment for action. Please take action.”

“I know how hard the Filipino works. They sacrifice so much to excel in other countries. Why not bring home the pride? Give us reason to be proud. Represent your country well. That’s why I am for #Pride4PI.”

“Cleaning the environment is an issue we all need to partake in. I’m committed to empowering Filipino youth whether through my Apl.de.ap Foundation or partnering with other dope people who have a common goal in beautifying and investing in the Philippines. It’s important to leave our country better than we inherited it for the next generation, and working with Pride4PI to united like-minded U.S., Hawaii, and Filipinos across the globe to be prideful and initiate a movement is a strong passion of mine.”

“Growing up in the Philippines, I only have fond memories and had the beautiful culture mold me to the person I am today. From spending my first 5 years of my life with family in Ilocos Sur, to winning my second world title in Manila, Philippines will always hold a special place in my heart, and its only fitting that I do my part to help in the cleanup and support the Pride 4 PI initiative. Aloha and Mabuhay Ka Pilipinas!”

“I’ve been going to the Philippines to visit my lolo and lola (grandparents) every other year since I was 2 years old. The beach, the food, the memories I have there will last forever. My trips to their remote island have helped make me who I am today. So, if there’s anything I can do help make sure others can enjoy the worlds best kept secret, I’m on board.”

“My parents brought us to Hawaii when I was only 8 years old.  I have many fond memories of my childhood in the Philippines and love returning to visit. #Pride4PI is a great opportunity to honor my heritage, help the people of the Philippines and make a significant impact on our environment. I hope you will all join me in supporting this worthy cause.”

“I remain convinced that we can
have a country without poverty if we
take care of the environment and
institute mechanisms within the
community around benefits. I have
been able to do it in a few sites
where the communities are able to
send their kids to college in the
second year, so I know it can be
done.”

The Vision of Pride 4 Philippines (#pride4ph)

The vision created by Lanai Tabura, Beverly Desuasido and MAMA EARTH is to bring leaders from a collection of nonprofit organizations, corporations, government officials and international celebrities to work together cooperatively for the good of our earth while sharing the spirit of ALOHA with the world.

Many diverse organizations are fighting to repair and protect our earth, and we strive to help coordinate their efforts for maximum benefit. In Hawaiian, this is “laulima” ~ working together to ensure success.

The support we have received from numerous concerned celebrities will assist with educational and fundraising efforts to maximize what these important environmental organizations can accomplish.
